About
Brome Braids was first established in in 1990 by Norma McLellan in Brome, Quebec. Looking to transition to a career that would allow her to work from home to raise her two children on the family farm, Anne Johnston bought the business in 1996. After an apprenticeship with Norma, Anne took over the business and started adding her own flavour, fusing unique colour combinations and patterns with different sizes and types to suit her customer's requests. 23 years later, you can find Anne's braided rugs scattered throughout Canadian homes from coast-to-coast, as well as in parts of Europe.

The enduring braided rugBraided rugs were typical in Colonial days but the technique is thousands of years old - the Egyptians made braided rush mats. In the 19th century, worn out clothing was recycled to make rugs. Underfoot, braided rugs create a rich, textural covering. These flat braided rugs are durable and are reversible for twice the wear. They are made from polyproplyne and can be machine washed.
